As part of GM Walking Festival 2024 that’s taking place across the month of May, I’m leading a Manchester Bee walking tour on Sunday, 12th May at 10am. Starting from the steps outside Central Library in St Peter’s Square, I’ll take you on a 2 mile circular walk around the city centre, visiting various places of interest.

I’ll be covering the history of the bee, from its origin through to the modern day, with photographs on hand for anything that’s currently under wraps, or inaccessible. I’ll also be answering any questions folks have about the bee and pointing out where else you can see the bee in the city.

This is currently a one-off event and free to attend, but if there’s enough interest I’ll look at organising future walking tours.

This is just one of the many walks taking place across the festival, so I recommend having a look at the listings to see what else is going on.
