The first Manchester Bee Bike Tour took place on Sunday, May 21st. Organised by Manchester Bike Tours, it was unique tour combining the history of the Manchester bee, current issues in bee keeping and cycling.

Starting at 10:30am outside Chorlton’s Teahive, the bicycle tour covered a distance of 6 miles over 3 hours as it toured the city, visiting locations such as Longford Park’s community allotment for honey tasting with Three Bees Co-Operative. The tour ended at Manchester Museum, giving a chance to visit the currently running After the Bees exhibition.

The organiser hope to run the tour again sometime, but there are no fixed dates as yet. All photographs include in this post are courtesy of David Dunnico.
