This reorganisation resulted in the City Council receiving a new coat of arms, designed by H. Ellis Tomlinson. The shield retains many elements of the previous design along with adding elements from the surrounding townships. For example, the 5 bees depicted around a shuttle representing the growth of five industrial communities around a textile industry centre. The ship comes from Eccles, signifying the importance of waterways and the motto and supporters are formerly those of Swinton and Pendlebury.<\/p>\n
[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image show_in_lightbox=”off” url_new_window=”off” use_overlay=”off” animation=”off” sticky=”off” align=”left” force_fullwidth=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid” \/][et_pb_text background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” border_style=”solid” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.0.60″]<\/p>\n

<a title=\"By Ausserferrera_wappen.svg: Bernina Heraldique_Navette.svg: Darkbob Arms_of_Camilla,_Duchess_of_Cornwall.svg: *Coat_of_Arms_of_Camilla,_Duchess_of_Cornwall.svg: Sodacan This vector image was created with Inkscape.
