A common link between most of the beekeepers I’ve been writing about is that they undertook their training with the Manchester & District Beekeepers Association (MDBKA for short). Part of the British Beekeepers Association<\/a>, the organisation\u2019s main purpose is to promote the art of beekeeping.<\/p>\n

The association\u2019s home since 2004 is Dower House, located in Heaton Park near the reservoir. Inside are an observation hive, displays about bees and beekeeping, with an apiary located at the back of the building. Here you\u2019ll find a wealth of different hive designs, filled with bees going about their business.<\/span> Dower House is also the location for the association\u2019s training courses run for beginners, bee clinics and lectures for members.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n
