Filmed during the Summer of 2014, Buzzin on the Roofs<\/em> is a 30 minute documentary film about the bee hives of Manchester city centre and making the case for Pollinator friendly cities.<\/p>\n Created by the Baytree Bee Project<\/a>, the film begins in Salford’s Kersal Vale Allotments<\/a> with Harry Davies and Jack Hobbs talking about their work. The two men then cross the river Irwell to visit Manchester Cathedral<\/a>. There they talk to Adrian Rhodes about his beehives and to hear about the history of the bees being kept monks along with the Church’s connections with bee keeping.<\/p>\n We then meet Kay Phillips of the Baytree Bee Project in the Cyprus Street Allotments<\/a> in Harpurhey, who then takes us on a tour of North Manchester before visiting the Printworks beehives<\/a> and talking its director Fred Booth, then Manchester Art Gallery<\/a> to chat to John Mouncey.<\/p>\n
